Darshana 2026 ~ Intimate Dance Series

📅 Festival Dates: 10 to 12 April 2026

Darshana 2026 carries forward our mission to highlight exceptional performers who have tirelessly enriched and expanded Singapore’s Indian arts scene

Darshana: Unbridled - Where movement meets Liberation
Jyotika Joshi
🗓️10 April 2026, 7.30pm
📍Avai @ Apsaras Arts

Unbridled explores love and self-discovery, inspired by Amir Khusrau and Mirza Ghalib. It follows a protagonist searching for love, only to find it within.

This work reinterprets Kathak, maintaining its intricate footwork and expressive storytelling while incorporating themes of introspection, acceptance, and transformation, reflecting longing and self-realization.

Darshana: Nadhi - The Flow of Life
Amirthini Sivaharan ft. live orchestra
🗓️11 April 2026, 7.30pm
📍Avai @ Apsaras Arts

Nadhi is a compelling Bharatanatyam work that illustrates society’s perception of both a river and a woman throughout the ages. In their youth, the river is celebrated for its beauty and abundance; it is cherished and safeguarded. However, as it matures, bearing the marks of exploitation and neglect, it becomes overlooked and polluted.

This narrative reflects how women, once admired for their youth, often find themselves undervalued as they grow older. Through *Nadhi*, Amirthini challenges societal priorities, advocating for respect, responsibility, and renewal.

Darshana: Sannidhi - At the divine door step
Maanasa Sri Ganesh ft. live orchestra
🗓️12 April 2026, 7.00pm
📍Avai @ Apsaras Arts

Sannidhi means sacred presence, divine proximity, or the sanctum space. In temple tradition, it refers to the inner shrine where the deity resides – a space of grace, surrender, and direct communion with the Divine.

Maanasa explores her holy communion with divinity layered with  myriad emotions, unfolds as a heartfelt offering. The offering of Bharatanatyam becomes a step closer to the sanctum within where devotion transforms into experience.
